12 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS CAROLS (DAY 1)

God rest ye merry, gentlemen
Let nothing you dismay
Remember Christ our Savior
Was born on Christmas Day
To save us all from Satan’s pow’r
When we were gone astray
Oh tidings of comfort and joy

I’ve always had a soft spot for Christmas Carols, their poetic imagery and their turn of phrase. So what better way to mark the 12 days of this season than sharing a stanza, or two, of some personal favourites…

The first, has a very important comma placement.

Merry Christmas! Tidings of comfort and joy.

‘The angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!”’
‭‭Luke‬ ‭2‬:‭10-11‬ (NLT)
